South Carolina raised, Gianna Negretti moved to Phoenix, AZ right after she graduated from University of South Carolina in 2004 to pursue a fulfilling career in the marketing industry. In 2011, she met her husband Jonathan who introduced her to life with Ulcerative Colitis (UC). Before meeting Jonathan, she had no idea what UC truly was, but she learned rather quickly just how debilitating the disease can truly be.
This inspired her to jump to action as she began volunteering for the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation right after Jonathan had his second surgery. Through this community, she met Heather, who became a true hero to their story. Heather offered guidance as they navigated through symptom after symptom, providing constant support at all the right times. Gianna has always had a passion for helping others and a drive to give back to those that needed the support navigating through their struggles with Crohn’s or Colitis, which is exactly how Heather’s Mission came to life.
Through this organization, she is in search of a cure for Crohn’s Disease and UC, but above all else, the ability to provide the support for not only the patients suffering from this chronic disorder, but their caregivers and loved ones as well. Gianna is passionate about starting the very difficult and uncomfortable conversations that surround both Crohn’s Disease and UC and believes in the power of joint forces.
